Please describe your company and your position there.

I am one of the Directors here at Counting King.

For what projects/services did your company hire CarbonCode Solutions Ltd, and what were your goals?

We work in a niche area of tax reliefs and funding. There are lots of CRM's available but none that work for our processes or way of working with clients for multiple years past and present. We wanted the ability to have 1 system that our sales, marketing, financial analysts could all work on together to eliminate ad-hoc systems.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We spotted an advert someone else had put on social media requesting bespoke software and saw dozens of responses all generic and quite obvious. Then I spotted a response from carboncode that actually took time to understand the brief and not only explain how they could achieve what they wanted but suggest ideas for improvements.

It wasn't "salesy" it was honest. I reached out and asked them for a quote which was really reasonable for a start up and since then they have helped us at each step where we have grown.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Our project is a labour of love, as our business continues to grow and evolve so does our system. We explained the big picture and then broke it down in to manageable chunks which allow us to budget. Every month, we spend a set amount, we receive set dev days and work through our objectives. This allows us to test everything on an ongoing basis and any suggestions for future or ideas can be implemented quickly.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

To be honest, it is a team effort, we have a dedicated contact who is one of the directors, as well as a dedicated lead dev (also a director) and then their team pitch in to hit deadlines, add specialist expertise etc.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project is very ambitious, especially when trying to manage this in stages which carboncode can deliver. There is the occasional snag or bug but this gets fixed very quickly. Without this system, our business wouldn't of grown as quickly as it has and I know that there is nothing like this on the market so our competitors have pain points we have avoided.

This project is now the foundation for other systems we have integrated such as client portals, partner portals as well as plugins for Xero and Quickbooks.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Communication is fantastic, its easy to pick up the phone and speak to someone at pretty much any hour, we also communicate via email when necessary but what carboncode introduced is a dedicated monday.com board so we can add feedback, future ideas but more importantly we can see the scope, timeline and when aspects of dev are taking place.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are very personable, down to earth, and understanding. The price is in line with our budget, the product is amazing.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really, with software, you have to have realistic timelines and expect bugs for unknowns but this carboncode react and work on these straight away. I would say they do everything they can to make a perfect client system. I have even advised I don't need as many updates as they can provide because I trust everything is in hand.
