What challenge were you trying to address with CarbonCode Solutions Ltd?
We needed help with custom software development for our company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
CarbonCode Solutions Ltd provides us with internal and external employees, which they employ and manage for us, to take on custom software development tasks using C# and AWS, among other technologies. Currently, the main focus is picking up and finishing the development of a software solution we had to pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which also involves collaborating with our AWS team. To jumpstart that process, they went through a full handover process with the previous team building the system.
In addition, they’re looking after our apps’ performance within the App Store and Google Play store for mobile and desktop versions.
In terms of features, the software, called Jobmate, is aimed at managing small businesses, including initial customer contact, creating a quote, winning and creating a job, adding purchased items, invoicing, employee and management, and CRM, among other functionalities. We refer to it as a micro ERP system.
What is the team composition?
So far, we’ve been working with three members of their team, including Jay (CEO), Louis (Co-Founder), and a senior developer.
How much money have you invested in this partnership?
So far, we’ve invested around £1 million (approximately $1.1 million USD) with them.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve been doing great work so far regarding learning the software, doing bug fixes, and taking on a new development sprint to expand the feature list of the platform. Overall, it’s been a seamless process.
How did CarbonCode Solutions Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is excellent. They’re great at giving meetings and holding regular meetings to keep us updated, so working with them is very transparent — they even let us know when there’s a problem rather than hiding it from us.
In terms of tools, we use monday.com.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very knowledgeable on AWS cloud technologies.
Are there any areas they could improve?
So far, I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on because they’ve been good.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They’re a very open company that listens to the customers’ needs, so be communicative to avoid delays and be aware of any upcoming situation.
